The 100 Best Posters from Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2021

24.06.2022 to 10.07.2022
Kulturforum

Each year graphic-arts enthusiasts can look forward to the results of the 100 Best Posters competition, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. It is already certain that the winning designs, which go on display at the Kulturforum in June 2022, represent a cutting-edge cross-section of the best poster art in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Posters for the cultural sector, in particular, offer plenty of opportunity for inventive imagery and exciting approaches to graphic, typographic and photographic design.

20 Years of 100 Best Posters – the Documentary

Since 2002, the annual competition „100 Best Posters“ has been showcasing the multifaceted quality of poster design in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A documentary film produced on the occasion of its 20th anniversary highlights designs, contributors and presentations of the last twenty years – two decades in which a lot has happened in graphic design.

Documentary film by Rianne Wieman and Johanna Ellerhold, with numerous exhibition impressions, winning posters from every year, plus statements by Niklaus Troxler (founding president 2001 to 2007) and Fons Hickmann (president since 2018), as well as Markus Weisbeck, Na Kim, Stefan Guzy, Johanna Siebein, Jianping He, Franziska Morlok, Hermann Büchner, Henning Wagenbreth, Andrea Gassner, Christina Thomson, René Grohnert, Sven Lindhorst-Emme and Niklas Apfel.
