Summer Holiday Programme 2019

18.05.2019
Antikensammlung

This year, we will go outdoors for many of the workshops. In the first and fourth week, a large summer camp will take place on the Museumsinsel.

With this year’s motto ‘Storm the Island!’, the Staatliche Museen is inviting children and teens to come and explore the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site that is the Museum Island by looking at its contents from a variety of different perspectives. On the weekends there will also be exhibition talks and one-day workshops for children, families and young people.

A large summer camp is taking place on Museum Island during the first and fourth week of Berlin’s school break. Together with artists, children and young adults explore the different museums with a special focus on the architecture and the outdoor spaces. The “Kolonnadenhof” (Colonnaded Courtyard) will be transformed into an open air studio, photo studio, colour laboratory and plaster cast workhop.

Registration and Participation

Registration is required for all workshops at least three business days in advance and a participation fee is charged for the event. When registering, please observe age requirements. Children and young adults under the age of 19 receive free admission to the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Other two-hour workshops and exhibition talks for children and families also take place each weekend. Registration can be completed online.

Further information, as well as descriptions of the exciting workshops and exhibition talks can be found in the 2019 Summer Holiday Programme.
