The objects that Sanghyeok Lee creates awaken curiosity. They encourage contemplation and use. At first they seem to be utilitarian objects – a mirror, a table, a shelf or a chair. But if you come closer and enter into the dialogue that the objects propose, then you notice that something is hidden behind the perfect finish, the minimalist design, the harmony of form and function, something that only reveals itself in the interaction with the objects and in the sensual experience of them. Originally from South Korea, designer Sanghyeok Lee is showing five objects in total in his exhibition. They will be presented at different places throughout the museum.
Design Views is a new exhibition series of the Kunstgewerbemuseum and the Internationales Design Zentrum Berlin.
