This is the eighth consecutive showing in the Kulturforum foyer of the winning selection of the 100 best posters of 2013 from Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. The show is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the Kunstbibliothek and 100 beste Plakate e.V. 

Thanks to the dedication and perseverance of the organizers, 100 beste Plakate e.V., the competition has established itself as a respected fixture in the graphic-design calendar and is now also acknowledged in circles outside the three participating countries.

The 100 best posters are selected by an independent jury and again demonstrate how alive the medium can be, even during the continuing rise of digital advertising platforms. As in previous years, the Berlin presentation marks the start of an exhibition tour that will subsequently travel to various venues in all three participating countries. In its parallel exhibition AVANT-GARDE!, the Kunstbibliothek presents a selection of historical posters from its extensive collections. In this show, meanwhile, it again aims to foster public discussion on contemporary poster art.

Building on the displays of the last two years, the foyer at the Kulturforum is about to be transformed into a lively poster gallery for the next four weeks. The foyer display also allows for a sense of fluid openness, with shifting views of the city outside: the real display setting for poster art.

The catalogue is due for release by Hermann Schmidt publishers, featuring plates of all 100 winning posters.
