The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin Joins the Long Night of Museums on 30 August 2025

05.08.2025

The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin will be participating in the 43rd “Long Night of the Museums” on Saturday, 30 August 2025, with an extensive programme under the motto “Liebe in Berlin” (Love in Berlin). From 6 pm until 2 am, the Long Night of Museums offers access to 75 museums and over 750 events with just one ticket. Advance discounted tickets are on sale until 17 August 2025 for 15 euros/12 euros (with concessions).

“Love in Berlin” and at the Museums

This year, everything revolves around love, with a programme full of big feelings, moving stories and extraordinary encounters:

  • For instance, the crossover dance event “I am in love with …” at the Bode-Museum offers a rare, one-time opportunity to dance at a location that is not a club.
  • In contrast, the short concerts at the Gemäldegalerie (Old Masters Paintings), “(Geschwister-) Liebe” (Brotherly/Sisterly Love) and “Liebe zur Musik. Musik zur Liebe” (Love of Music. Music of Love) are dedicated to this year’s motto.
  • And the short tours “Most BeLOVEd in the Neue Nationalgalerie” pursue, among other questions, how love is whispered at the Neue Nationalgalerie. It also features a one-word poem about love.

Programme

Information on the entire #LNDMberlin programme is available on the Long Night of Museums website and in the participating museums.

All Museums on Museumsinsel Berlin are Open

This year, all the museums on Museumsinsel (Museum Island Berlin) Berlin are open during the Long Night of Museums to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Museumsinsel. Visit world-renowned art treasures within their famous buildings ‒ spanning from antiquity’s Nefertiti at the Neues Museum and the Praying Boy at the Altes Museum to the portrait busts of the Italian Renaissance at the Bode-Museum and the French Impressionists at the Alte Nationalgalerie.

Please note: Not all of the galleries in these museums are open due to budgetary restrictions and limited personnel. The top storey of the Altes Museum (except for the special exhibition Founded on Antiquity: Berlin’s First Museum), Neues Museum, Bode-Museum and the Alte Nationalgalerie are unfortunately not accessible during the Long Night of Museums event.

Fifteen of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin Museums are Participating

The following museums are connected by Red Line Shuttle Buses during the Long Night of Museums:
