DenkRaum ‒ A Think Tank Space ‒ at the FC Dahlem

New, Collaborative Approaches to Developing Concepts for Exhibitions

The Forschungscampus Dahlem (Dahlem Research Campus), a new type of research and presentation venue, has been established at the SPK museum location in Berlin-Dahlem. Interdisciplinary and cross-collection collaborations between various institutions make it stand out.

The Forschungscampus Dahlem is more than just a research location: It views itself as a network that develops, presents and imparts new knowledge about material and immaterial cultures by combining different competencies and perspectives. The FC Dahlem aims to make research processes accessible and transparent and enable different interest groups to participate in developing new information. Differing forms of knowledge are treated equally at the FC Dahlem, where traditional hierarchies are deliberately avoided.

The FC Dahlem intends to explore and implement new approaches to exhibition concepts through its workshop on exhibitions. In a collaborative process, academic and non-academic contributors are jointly organising an exhibition focusing on “Zeit & Zeitlichkeit (Time &Temporality)”.
