Welcome to Haus Bastian! Welcome to the Museumsinsel!

Students and teachers are invited to familiarise themselves with the new Centre for Cultural Education at Haus Bastian. Project days are geared toward school groups. Continuing education and working groups, such as “School and Museum”, are intended for teachers.

Project Days for School Groups

Project days link Haus Bastian to the collections on the Museumsinsel. School groups approach different topics in dialogue with the museums and exhibits. In the new workshop spaces, they pose their own sets of questions and work through them in an active, creative and research-oriented way. In the process, they feed their perspectives and can lend tangible form to their attitudes.

The project days are free of charge and are intended for school groups in grades 1‒6, SEK I and SEK II (secondary levels I + II).

Continuing Education for Teachers

The choice of project days is introduced and tested in practice.

Working Group: School and Museum

Teachers contribute both their expertise and wishes to the design of the programme at Haus Bastian. In collaboration with art educators, they develop ideas for long-term and sustainable cooperations between schools and museums.

The “School and Museum” working group meets the first Thursday of each month.

The project Welcome to Haus Bastian! Welcome to the Museum Island is supported by the Kuratorium Preussischer Kulturbesitz.
