Open to the City: Open Call for the Community Council Hamburger Bahnhof

02.04.2026
Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart

Setting impulses, fostering community, rethinking the museum: With the community council, the Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart is opening up even further to the voices of the city. Ten committed individuals from Berlin's society support the museum in its ongoing development as a more diverse, open, and inclusive space for Berliners as well as national and international visitors. Over a one-year term, board members collaborate with Hamburger Bahnhof staff to discuss new ideas on exhibitions, programs, education & outreach, accessibility, and the opening of the institution.

To complete the council, Hamburger Bahnhof is seeking two engaged young individuals aged 18–25 who wish to join the community council for one year. The compensation is €300 for two meetings within the year.

Task: Design, write, sketch—whatever you like—on a single slide (1920 x 1080 pixels) to illustrate how you, from your perspective, would support Hamburger Bahnhof’s community council.
