Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart
In this anniversary year as well, Hamburger Bahnhof invites the public to three days of open doors and welcomes visitors with free admission and a free programme from Friday, 12 June, 10 am to 10 pm, Saturday, 13 June, and Sunday, 14 June, from 11 am to 6 pm. This year’s Open House marks the opening of the new collection presentation A Thousand Times Berlin on the occasion of 30 years of Hamburger Bahnhof. As every year, the first Berlin Beats DJ set of the season will also take place at the start of Open House in the museum garden, this time featuring Kikelomo.
Summer can begin: For the fourth year in a row, the museum garden will transform into an open-air stage throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday for the BVG Orchestra, inclusive tango, and Brazilian Forró dance. In the Gardenatelier, visitors can create T-shirts at the screen-printing station or experiment with the historical photographic technique of cyanotype and take home their own artwork. In the Rieckhallen studio, exhibition banners will be turned into bags or wallets, and anyone who has always wanted to roller skate in a museum should definitely stop by Rollerdisco Drawing with ZIK. The museum will also host artist talks with Saâdane Afif, Cana Bilir-Meier, Mario Pfeifer, and Cemile Sahin.
On all three days, an extensive programme with over 120 free tours and workshops complements the admission-free exhibition visit.
Restaurant Konstantin im Hamburger Bahnhof offers a special selection of savory and sweet food and beverages indoors and outdoors at the museum. Throughout the weekend, restaurant Reinhard Bär will additionally provide drinks, street food, and ice cream for visitors at the museum’s north gate.
