Allein im Museum | "Magical Soup" in the Hamburger Bahnhof with Anna-Catharina Gebbers

Video Talks about the Magical Soup Exhibition

Curator Anna-Catharina Gebbers spoke with the artists Sandra Mujinga and Nicole Wermers about their works on display while the special exhibition Magical Soup was being installed. The group exhibition shows key works of media art, supplemented with newer trends by the youngest generation of artists, whose mutual point of departure is the relationship between sound, image and social space. The videos can now be viewed on a Magical Soup playlist on the YouTube channel of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.

Additional Online Content Offered by the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin

During the renewed closure of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin venues because of the coronavirus pandemic, online content will be continuously expanded. An example is the currently available video documentation about the restoration of Rebecca Horn’s installation Room of the Wounded Ape. The film is part of the In Preparation series, in which the Nationalgalerie offers insights into the curatorial and conservational preparations of major works for the new exhibition space being constructed at the Kulturforum. The spatial installation, which was restaged at Hamburger Bahnhof in 1996, was originally conceived in 1990 for a building adjacent to Berlin Wall border strip near Potsdamer Platz.

An overview of online content offered by the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, including links to 360° tours, databases, social media channels and its collaboration with Google Arts & Culture, is available at https://www.smb.museum/online-angebote/.
