From 19 May to 6 September 2021, the lecture series “Zwischen Mittelalter und Neuzeit – Die Kunst der Spätgotik in Deutschland” (Between the Middle Ages and Modernity – Late Gothic Art in Germany), which accompanies the special exhibition The Late Gothic Era: The Birth of Modernity at Berlin’s Gemäldegalerie, is available online as digital lectures (in German).

The Academy Lecture and Discussion Series offers a variety of opportunities for an in-depth study of subjects relating to the history of art and culture. The lectures for the special exhibition The Late Gothic Era: The Birth of Modernity provide a concise overview of the exciting “autumn of the Middle Ages”. Art historian Dr Henrik Engel leads the talks.
