Friedrichswerdersche Kirche
Since its reopening in 2020, the Friedrichswerdersche Kirche has become a popular exhibition venue on Berlin's Museum Island. Last year, the branch of the Alte Nationalgalerie attracted 157,652 visitors. New admission prices will apply from 4 March 2026.
The Friedrichswerdersche Kirche is the only church building by Karl Friedrich Schinkel in Berlin's city center that has been preserved in its original condition. Since 2020, it has been a museum church with a permanent exhibition of major 19th-century sculptures from the Alte Nationalgalerie collection, including works by Johann Gottfried Schadow, Christian Daniel Rauch, Karl Begas, Adolf Brütt, and Adolf von Hildebrand. The gallery is dedicated to Schinkel's life and work.
From 4 March 2026, admission will be €6, reduced €3; admission is free for visitors under 18. A newly designed audio walk and a free accompanying brochure complement the offer. Public tours, family formats, and the “Schinkel Talks and Lectures” series take place regularly. Further information is available on the website of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.
