07.08.2026
The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin is participating in the 44th “Long Night of Museums” on Saturday, 29 August, with an extensive programme delving into the theme of “Crime in Berlin”. From 6 pm to 2 am, a single ticket for the Long Night of Museums offers access to 75 museums and over 750 events – including guided tours, readings, workshops, talks and performances. Advance discount tickets are on sale until 16 August 2026 for 15 euros/12 euros (with concessions).
Crime in Berlin – Searching for Clues in the Museums
Whether the subject is art forgery, art fraud or forensic investigation, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin venues are exploring this year’s theme in a variety of ways, while also offering new perspectives on their collections.
On the Trail of Crime in the Bode-Museum: Which crimes or murder cases are tied to the objects on display? Which case might have taken place right here at the museum? Join us on site for a conversation about art thieves and forgers with René Allonge, chief detective inspector at the Berlin State Criminal Investigation Office (LKA), and Stefan Simon, director of the Rathgen Research Laboratory.
Art and Architecture at the Friedrichswerderschen Kirche (Friederichswerder Church): Not everything white is marble, and not everything yellow is sandstone. Where do our eyes deceive us at the Friedrichswerdersche Kirche? Enjoy these short, interesting tours at a location that, for many people, remains an insider tip.
A Forgery Workshop at Hamburger Bahnhof: Have you ever spotted a forged work of art? At the Forger’s Workshop, you, too, can unleash your creativity. In the studio, you can try your hand at art forgery, experiment with techniques used on famous works and create your own artwork.
Information on the entire programme for the #LNDMberlin and all participating venues is available on the Long Night of Museums Website and at the participating museums.

Starting at 4 pm, you will find the information stand, food trucks and interactive stations on the streets Am Lustgarten and Bodestraße.
