The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin is now on Instagram. This platform allows visitors to go behind the scenes to explore everyday life in the museum: www.instagram.com/staatlichemuseenzuberlin.
Through a wide range of pictures, our page will showcase the diversity of our collections and the beauty of the buildings that house them. In addition to a unique perspective on our museums' objects, exhibitions, and architecture, our page will include images of exhibition preparations, conservation treatments, our work in the storerooms, openings, and other events.
A special highlight of our page will be regular photo-sessions, or 'Instawalks'. Under the hashtag #EmptyWalk, instagrammers will meet after museum opening hours and have the artwork completely to themselves to admire and shoot.
The next Instawalk will take place on 12 June in the Kunstgewerbemuseum under the hashtag #EmptyKunstgewerbemuseum. It will be accompanied by a photo competition. You can find more information and rules for participation on our Instagram page!
