New Opening Hours: The Altes Museum and the Bode-Museum Are Open Tuesdays from 3 June 2025

Good news for the Museumsinsel (Museum Island) anniversary: the Altes Museum and Bode-Museum will once again be open on Tuesdays beginning on 3 June 2025.

The good news comes just in time for the Museumsinsel anniversary – with a big island festival from 30 May to 1 June 2025: The Altes Museum and the Bode-Museum will once again be open on Tuesdays beginning on 3 June 2025.

The opening hours of both museums have been shortened since April 2024. In addition to the usual Mondays, they had also been closed Tuesdays because of the tight budgetary situation.

Matthias Wemhoff, spokesperson for the Museumsinsel and director of the Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte (Museum of Prehistory and Early History), welcomes the return of regular opening hours:

“You can now enjoy the Museumsinsel at your leisure once again! A visit to the island is not complete without the wonderful antiquities at the Altes Museum and the artworks at the Bode-Museum. From the Lustgarten to the tip of the island: Our doors are open again on Tuesdays!”

The expanded opening hours are accompanied by an adjustment of the admission price: The entrance ticket will cost 14 euros in future instead of 12 and is now  in line with the price level at the other museums on Berlin’s Museumsinsel.
