“The Laboratory Principle,” the concluding exhibition of the Humboldt Lab Dahlem, is a retrospective, a perspective and a synthesis all in one. All the experiments that took place between 2012 - 2015 and which were subsequently discussed within the seven Probebühnen are to be displayed and reflected upon - including their premises, aims, experimental form and their outcomes.
Of particular note here are the protagonists’ perspectives: those who have shaped the Humboldt Lab and who will be contributing to the development of the Humboldt-Forum itself: What fascinated them especially about the Humboldt Lab? What ideas do they consider to be practical? In what form? And how will the discourse be maintained?
As a retrospective of a unique series of experiments, “The Laboratory Concept” is an “exhibition on exhibiting.” In addition to the meticulous planning of all those involved, and the efforts and moments of joy that the Humboldt Lab provided, above all it is the strength of conviction reflected in the new display in the Humboldt-Forum that will carry off the move of the Dahlem collections to Berlin-Mitte. Concept by Martin Heller, in cooperation with scenographers from arge gillmann schnegg.
