Kulturforum
Four films reconstruct the life and work of James Simon. Visitors are able to walk through the video installation, getting to know this businessman and patron of the arts on various screens.
The different chapters shed light on various aspects of James Simon’s life story, the history of his cotton business, his art collection, as well as his philanthropic projects and donations to the collections of the museums of Berlin. Animated photos and historical film material bring the history of this major Berlin patron to life.
A special presentation in the upper special exhibition hall of the Kulturforum. The exhibition is supported by the James Simon-Stiftung. Curated by historian Olaf Matthes from the Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte, an expert on Simon, together with the filmmaker Felix von Boehm.
