On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Graphische Gesellschaft zu Berlin (Berlin Graphic Society), the Vereinigung der Freunde des Berliner Kupferstichkabinetts e.V. (Friends of the Museums of Prints and Drawings) is showing a selection of works acquired by the Graphic Society since 1997. These acquisitions - important drawings and prints from after 1960 - substantially supplement and extend the Kupferstichkabinett's collection of late 20th century art.
The exhibition includes works by Franz Ackermann, John M. Armleder, Monika Brandmeier, Marcel van Eeden, Olafur Eliasson, Franz Gertsch, Imi Knoebel, Arthur Köpcke, Sol LeWitt, Julie Mehretu, Raymond Pettibon, Dieter Roth, Gert & Uwe Tobias and others. The works purchased by the Graphic Society also illustrate the development of contemporary art on paper, its diversity and high quality.
