The exhibition in the foyer presents the 100th anniversary issue of the artist journal Entwerter/Oder and the facsimile edition of the publication’s legendary first issue. The artist journal was founded illegally in East Berlin by Uwe Warnke and Siegmar Körner in 1982 (Uwe Warnke has served as sole editor since 1984). It was the first publication among the various subversive artist journals that emerged in the last decade of East Germany.
Entwerter/Oder continues to the present day to publish graphic art, drawings, photographs, objets trouvés, articles on music and cinema, and writing by primarily German-speaking authors. The various forms of writing featured in the journal range from visual poetry via lyrics through to experimental prose and essays on aesthetics.
