Bode-Museum
As part of the “We the People” program initiative organized by the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz to mark the 250th anniversary of U.S. Independence Day, the Münzkabinett is presenting a collection-based installation.
To commemorate the anniversary of U. S. Independence, the Münzkabinett is presenting two special displays. The selection of coins and medals illuminates the eventful history of the United States, marked by periods of new beginnings, immigration, and internal conflict. The question of where the dollar gets its name is also addressed. On display is an iconic American medal from the Revolutionary era bearing George Washington’s portrait.
