An exhibition of the Kunstbibliothek (Art Library) in cooperation with '100 beste Plakate e.V.' and the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee

For the exhibition of '100 Best Posters 06', presented by the registered association, 100 beste Plakate e.V., together with the Kunstbibliothek, National Museums in Berlin, an interdisciplinary project of art school students of the Kunsthochschule Weißensee, under the supervision of Prof. Stefan Koppelkamm und Prof. Helmut Staubach, has developed a most unusual means of presentation. The posters will be suspended from helium balloons of varying size, their arrangement corresponding with the floor levels of the wide, open foyer of the Kulturforum.

At the beginning of March, a jury headed by Anette Lenz (Paris) with Erwin K. Bauer (Vienna), Peter Frey (Aarau), Prof. Heike Grebin (Berlin) and Prof. Bernard Stein (Berlin) chose the works presented from over 1500 individual posters submitted by 463 designers. As before, the '100 Best' are regarded as equal winners.

Reflecting the competition's openness in terms of style and form, the selected works represent a large palette of tendencies in up-to-date poster design in the three countries, including not only professional designers, design studios and advertising agencies but also the work of design student (23 out of a hundred best posters were designed by students). Out of the 100 Best Posters 06, 37 come from Switzerland, 11 from Austria and 52 from Germany.

All motifs are published in the book '100 beste Plakate 06 Deutschland Österreich Schweiz' (design: Erich Brechbühl/Büro Mixer in CH Luzern, publisher: Verlag Hermann Schmidt in Mainz). The book will be available from the day of the opening of the Berlin exhibition and can be purchased there or in bookshops for 34,80 Euro.
