Off we go on a Museum Xpedition! Ask critical questions, take off your shoes, shout or cheer. Inspiration awaits you everywhere, sometimes real and sometimes imaginary. Whether with the Museum Parkour, the Invisible or Whisper Tour: experience the exhibitions in a completely new way!
Each Sunday, the Rieckhallenatelier transforms into a laboratory for art researchers. Experiment with artistic techniques, reuse old museum materials and build large installations together. Let’s go to the museum!
Programme and coordination: Marwa Almokbel& Laureline van den Heuvel, Volkswagen Group Art4All Fellows

“Ich versteh nur Bahnhof” – New Family Publication Available for Free at Hamburger Bahnhof Starting July 1
Beginning July 1, Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart will offer its new family publication “Ich versteh nur Bahnhof” (I don’t get what’s going on). With a playful nod to the museum’s name, the title invites families to explore the museum together and at their own pace—with curiosity, openness, and no strict rules.
Divided into three engaging chapters, the booklet guides visitors through the museum’s remarkable architecture, provides playful entry points to individual artworks, and encourages families to discover the current exhibitions together. With questions, prompts, and space for personal thoughts and drawings, the museum visit becomes an intimate and memorable experience.
“Ich versteh nur Bahnhof” will be available for free at the museum’s ticket desk starting July 1—with the purchase of a family ticket or when visiting with an annual pass. The publication is currently available in German only.
The family publication “Ich versteh nur Bahnhof” is made possible by Volkswagen Group: Partner of the Nationalgalerie.
