Fide Struck's Berlin Suitcase
In 1941, the worker-photographer Fide Struck (1901–1985) packed a suitcase in Berlin containing around 3000 negatives. The suitcase was opened in 2015. The Willy-Brandt-Haus is exhibiting a selection of these Berlin images until September 27. Fide Struck began his career as a photographer at the "Handwerkschaft Gildenhall" near Neuruppin, a community shaped by Bauhaus artists. His son, Thomas, discusses his father’s social, professional, and romantic conflicts while images are projected.
