Hamburger Bahnhof on Tour
Afif wrote the first Lyrics in 2004 for the four works in his exhibition Melancholic Beat at Museum Folkwang. These four texts, as well as the twelve Lyrics created in 2025 for the work complex The Old, will be performed. The performance Melancholic Beat Live is a commissioned work by Museum Folkwang as part of the exhibition Saâdane Afif. Affiches / Plakate, Museum Folkwang, Essen, 13 March to 4 October 2026.

With the monthly event series “Hamburger Bahnhof On Tour,” the museum is placing a special focus on networking with Berlin cultural actors for its 30th anniversary: from February to July 2026, Hamburger Bahnhof, in collaboration with Freunde* Guter Musik Berlin e. V., will host six concerts and performances by the Berlin artists Annika Kahrs and Saâdane Afif at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum SIM, Berliner Medizinhistorisches Museum, Ev. Heilige-Geist-Kirche, in the Roter Salon der Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, KM28, and the Kantine am Berghain.
