Cao Fei (b. 1978) is a Chinese multimedia artist based in Beijing. Her work delves into contemporary China and captures its rapid social and cultural transformation, influenced by globalization, urbanization, and popular culture. Cao Fei blends social commentary, popular aesthetics, surrealism, and documentary elements through video, digital media and performance.

Cao Fei has exhibited her work at Tate Modern in London, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, MoMA and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York. Her works were part of the exhibition Micro Era. Media Art from China at the Kulturforum of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Exhibitions during 2025 include My City is Yours at the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney and The Future Is Not A Dream at MALBA in Buenos Aires.
