In context of the exhibition "I do You" by Monica Bonvicini, and to kick off Gallery Weekend, the Neue Nationalgalerie will feature a concert by Andrea Belfi. The drummer, composer, and experimental musician combines his legendary drum solos with the endless possibilities of the electronic to create rhythmically complex, energetic and hypnotic live performances.
The internationally renowned artist has given concerts, among others, on the stages at Philharmonie de Paris, Montreux Jazz Festival, The Greek Theater (Los Angeles), Unsound Festival (Krakow), Barbican Center (London), Issue Project Room (New York), and CTM Festival (Berlin). After Andrea Belfi already performed in Monica Bonvicini's exhibition at the OGR Turin in 2019, his music now enters into a dialogue with Bonvicini's installation for the second time.
The museum offers free admission from 4 to 0 p.m. on April 27, 2023, as part of Art4All. The concert as well as all exhibitions can be visited during this time free of charge.
