Activities for Young People

The Staatliche Museen zu Berlin invites young people to participate in workshops and projects, and to bring their ideas and points of view into the museums.

One-day and multi-day workshops combine visits to exhibitions with hands-on artistic work. Young people discuss works of art and art-historical objects with their peers, exploring the background behind these works and examining how they relate to their own interests and lived environments. They also try out artistic forms of expression and creatively develop their own stance on what they experience.

In January 2021, the youth committee of the National Museums in Berlin, Achtet AlisMB, was formed to bring the wishes, experiences, ideas and perspectives of young people to the buildings and exhibitions of the National Museums in Berlin.

  • Admission to the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin is free for children and teens up to the age of 18.
  • As a rule, activities for young people are held in German. Exceptions are indicated.
