| Thin section of Proconnesian marble under the polarizing microscope (with cross-polarized filters). Investigation for provenance studies of marble samples from the Umm Qeis archaeological site, Jordan. The study of the microstructure of the marble helps to identify its source: most probable the island of Proconnesus (modern Marmara, Turkey)

Dünnschliff eines Prokonnesischen Marmors unter dem Polarisationsmikroskop (mit gekreuzten Filtern). Untersuchung zur Provenienz von Marmorproben aus Grabungsstätte Umm Qeis, Jordanien. Die Mikrostruktur des Marmors gibt Auskunft über die Lagerstätte: Höchst wahrscheinlich die Insel Marmara, Türkei.
