After successfully launching itself on Facebook, the National Museums in Berlin is strengthening its activities in the area of social media and is embarking down new avenues in how it presents its many divisions, exhibitions and events, by creating its own video channel on YouTube.
At youtube.com/smb short films will keep viewers abreast of the broad range of exhibitions and activities on offer at the National Museums. The films will especially focus on showcasing the individual museums and their various collections. In addition, interviews and videos on selected exhibitions, press conferences and other events will also be available online. The first film is dedicated to the Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg and takes viewers on a tour through the museum that was reopened in 2008. More videos are due to follow over the next few days.
