The National Museums in Berlin at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2008
The National Museums in Berlin, the Dresden State Art Collections and the Bavarian State Painting Collections, Munich, will be showcasing their current art and research publications with a combined presence at this year's Frankfurt Book Fair.
As well as the manifold individual books (many of which were jointly edited by the respective organizations) the art museums' image library - Bildagentur bpk - which is based in Berlin, will also be featuring at the fair.
The internet portal www.bpk-images.de offers image users from the media, business and advertising industry the chance to search for suitable image motifs, call up high-quality image files and purchase the rights to use images for purposes of publication. For the first time photographic reproductions of art treasures from the three major German museum organizations from Dresden, Munich and Berlin will be brought together on one platform.
Alongside the art museums' image library, many other significant art museums from both home and abroad will also be present at the Fair, including the Musée du Louvre and Centre Pompidou from France and the Uffizi Gallery and Vatican Museums from Italy, to name but a few.
