An artistic audience at the prince's court
3-day school holiday workshop (German / English) parallel to 'The Tell Halaf Adventure'
Monday 31.1. - Wednesday 2.2.2011, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
An exciting journey through time takes the children back some 3000 years to the palace of the Aramaean prince, Kapara, and conjures up awe-insp iring forms of lions, griffins or sphinxes. After an introduction to the history and mythology behind Tell Halaf, the children are given time to make sketches of the reliefs and sculptures in the museum. Inspired by what they see there, they then get to create their own masks and costumes needed for when they later make up and enact scenes from the world of gods and mythological creatures. The photos taken of them will be posted on the exhibition's website, specially created by the museum, available for downloading.
