Tholoi and palaces - findings of the field research at Tell Halaf

Lecture held in German as part of the special exhibition 'The Tell Halaf Adventure'

Speakers:
Dr. Jörg Becker, Martin-Luther-Universität, Halle-Wittenberg
Dr. Lutz Martin, Museum of the Ancient Near East, Berlin
PD Dr. Mirko Novák, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität, Munich
Prof. Winfried Orthmann, Mandelbachtal

After a 77 year-long cessation, in 2006 a joint mission of Syrian and German archaeologists started new digs at Tell Halaf. The excavators will now report back on the results of the last excavation campaign and give details on their interpretation of the 7000 year-old history of the settlement at the site. Richly illustrated, this exciting lecture gives a clear picture of the current status of research efforts being undertaken at one of the most important ruins in the former Ancient Near East.
