Nationalgalerie Prize for Young Art 2007

Made possible by the Friends of the National Gallery, supported by BMW

This year, the Nationalgalerie Prize for Young Art will be made for the fourth time. Four artists have been nominated by an international jury: Jeanne Faust, Ceal Floyer, Damián Ortega, and Tino Sehgal. They will introduce their work in a joint exhibition at the Hamburger Bahnhof - Museum for the Present - Berlin.

A second jury selected and announced the this year's award winner Ceal Floyer on 27th September. Additionally, visitors are invited to cast their own ballot: the winning artist will be awarded the Public Award in November.

The Friends of the National Gallery inaugurated the "National Gallery Award for Young Art" in 2000. Comprising a sum of 50,000 Euros, it is one of the most highly endowed awards for contemporary art in Germany. Further, the National Gallery will purchase a work by the award winner for its collection.
