Make a Wish/Wünsch Dir Was!
Idea competition for teenagers
Make a Wish/WÜNSCH DIR WAS! is aimed at young people between the ages of 13 and 18, and all school and sixth-form pupils. The submitted projects should not only be innovative but implementable, and the best idea, selected by a jury comprised of young people, museum experts and celebrities, will receive financial support and professional help on the part of the museums in getting it off the ground. Make a Wish/WÜNSCH DIR WAS! will take place each year at the National Museums' diverse venues and will be launched in autumn 2011 at the Hamburger Bahnhof.
Online applications can be submitted from 24 October to 8 December 2011 in the form of photos, videos, audio files or a short text, by going to the WÜNSCH DIR WAS! website at: www.wuenschdirwas.museum.
General advice for interested applicants can be requested by email and during open consultation hours, either over the phone or in person. Those interested can also find out more and exchange ideas on the competition on Facebook at www.facebook.com/WuenschdirwasSMB. In the autumn holidays and over some weekends, special workshops will be held on information and brainstorming in the Art Education studios at the Hamburger Bahnhof, which will give teenagers the chance to make the most of professional support from museum staff.
A project team is currently visiting Berlin schools and youth organizations to hold information events outlining the competition. School classes, groups or even individuals can register to get a personal appointment for free. Admission to the Hamburger Bahnhof and all other museums at the National Museums is of course free for interested participants.
Application submissions: from 24 October to 8 December 2011.
Jury session and award ceremony: 12 January 2012.
