Libraries

The National Museums in Berlin, in their function as a research institution, possess a number of specialist libraries for research and study in the collections. While the Art Library is open to the public, the specialist libraries attached to individual collections can only be accessed under exceptional circumstances. To apply for the use of these libraries, please contact a member of staff of the respective collection.

The Kunstbibliothek (Art Library) comprises the following libraries:
- Archäologische Bibliothek
- library for art, art history and related subjects
- library at the Museum Island
- Lipperheide Costume Library
- Karl Steinorth Library at the Museum for Photography
