For two days - 14 and 15 June 2014 - the Kulturforum will become a fairground of culture for the entire city of Berlin. For the first time, the Kulturforum's cultural institutions are collaborating to present a summer celebration, both within their respective buildings and on their shared plaza.
The programme is made possible by the Kulturstiftung St. Matthäus, the Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt, the Stiftung Berliner Philharmoniker, the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz, the Musikinstrumenten-Museum, the Ibero-Amerikanische Institut, and the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin. The festival is intended for the citizens of Berlin and visitors to the city and will span art, music, dance, fashion, theatre, literature, and architecture. There will also be a wide range of interactive events especially designed for children, families, and the artistically inclined.
Michael Eissenhauer (Staatliche Museen zu Berlin), Hermann Parzinger (Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz), Martin Hoffmann (Berliner Philharmoniker), and Michael Münch (Deutsche Bank) announced the programme in a joint press conference.
