In the Museum of the Ancient Near East, you can discover the history of ancient cities’ magnificent buildings and learn how German excavations have shed light on the mysteries of the ancient Near East.
Audio guides, guided tours, workshops, and other activities equip you with background information and heighten the fascination you will experience in learning about the ancient Orient. The museum also offers private guided tours. In booking your appointment, you can select a time as well as a topic that interests you.
What is a Mušḫuššu? What festivals were celebrated in ancient Mesopotamia? Children can learn to decipher cuneiform writing, find out what jewellery ancient princesses wore, and listen to stories about King Gilgamesh, who ventured into the underworld and returned unscathed.
