Yousef Jameel Digitalization Project

The Yousef Jameel digitization project is recording and digitizing 11,000 artefacts from the collection of the Museum of Islamic Art.

The staff of the project is compiling all important information about the objects including their dating, provenance, materials, and techniques. In addition, various views and interesting details of the artefacts are being photographed.

The collected data will be made available online on “SMB-digital”, the website of collection highlights from the State Museums of Berlin as well as on “Islamic Art Online”.

The digitization project aims to make significant parts of the massive and diversified collection of the Museum of Islamic Art accessible to the public.
