Education and outreach
With a range of objects from the Middle Ages to the modern era, the Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings) is a veritable treasury whose holdings unfortunately cannot be permanently displayed at once. This is in part due to the size of its collection but also due to the objects’ sensitivity to light. Regular presentations in the collection’s own exhibition area as well as large exhibitions in the special exhibition halls offer insight into the diverse universe of ‘art on paper’.
In addition, small studio exhibitions featuring the Kupferstichkabinett’s holdings are hosted in the Gemäldegalerie, the Alte Nationalgalerie, and the Neue Nationalgalerie.
In the study room, you can take an adventurous journey on your own. Visitors can request to view and study original works. And we wish you luck in selecting works to view: There are over 650,000 to choose from!
