In conjunction with the Institut français d'Allemagne, Cité de l'Architecture and the Alfred Herrhausen Society, the Art Library is showcasing ten visions for the future of Greater Paris, drawn up by 43 separate work groups made up of architects, urban planners and artists. The exhibition forms part of the 'Le Grand Pari(s)' project for the future, initiated by the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy and will go on show in the central entrance hall at Kulturforum.
The core themes of the projects for Paris in 2030 are ecology, transport infrastructure, multiculturalism and sustainability. The exhibition in Berlin will also serve as a platform for a comprehensive series of accompanying events, including lectures, podium discussions and architect discussions. Scrutinizing Paris allows us to take a fresh look at the city of Berlin, its urban projects, strategies and visions for the future.
